Has anyone had any luck slicing the thickness of the Mastercarve in half?
It's pretty thick, so I'm thinking I can have twice as much carving material if
I slice it in half. Looking for any successful tips on how to do this so I
still have a fairly flat surface for mounting the stamp when I'm done!
Thanks in advance,
StampinPam

We cut our Mastercarve block in half using a butcher knife...but I'm
sure someone has a better idea... It came out alright though,
despite the knife needing to be sharpened.

I use a butcher knife too--tho I'm open to better suggestions!

I haven't tried it but what about a cheese slicer? They are made to do just that sort of thing, cut a slice off of a large block.

I used my cheese slicer for cutting the Mastercarve block in half and
it worked. Cuts like butter!

First, forgive us if this has been said... we don't usually use
mastercarve so we have not been following this thread too closely....
What about a bagel slicer? I have a handy one where the bagel sits
in a bit of a craddle and there's a large blade (like a guillotine)
that you push through the bagel to slice it in half. It might be
more rugged and cut through the block a bit better than a cheese
slicer.

Thanks, everyone, for the advice. I had the cheese slicer idea in my mind, but wasn't sure if it would work or not. Think I'll give it a try!
